See which blocks you can add

Use this guide to see which kinds of content a page can use before you plan a change. A block is a reusable piece of page content, such as text, an image, or a gallery.

Check the blocks available on a page

1. Open Pages from Website.
2. Use the language button at the top right to choose the page language.
3. Open the page by its title.
4. In the editor, find the Blocks area.
5. Choose Add new content. The chooser lists the block types available for this page.
6. Read the choices, then close the chooser without selecting a block.

Opening the chooser does not add anything. A block is added only after you select a type and save the page.

Why the choices differ

A page design is the layout prepared for a page. It decides whether the editor has a Blocks area and which blocks appear in the chooser. For example, one design might offer Text and Image, while another also offers Gallery or Call to action.

The Blocks area is the part of the editor where those reusable pieces are placed. A page without a Blocks area has no blocks to choose from.

If you do not see the block you need

First check that you opened the right page and language. If the Blocks area or expected block is still missing, ask an administrator whether the page design supports it.

Close the chooser; the page remains unchanged. Return to the editor when you are ready to work on its content.
